Schultz, Ted “Dutch.” The Network. Berkeley: n.p., 1980.

8vo.; five bifoliate leaves; two yellow, two pink, and one blue; annotation on first recto; pinholes from removed staple; franked stamp.

Started in 1975, The Network and the Corps of Reality Engineers, a loose countercultural collective, evolved into a mail order catalog [“publist”] cum new literature review [“booklog”]. On offer and under review was a “barely edited selection of unusual and esoteric literature ... photocopies of either original manuscripts, pamphlets, or articles from obscure journals.” The publist has sections on Timothy Leary, Robert Anton Wilson, Network Archives, Space, Life Extension, New Technologies, Speculative Entertainment, Occult, Religious, and Spiritual Movements, and What is Reality. This is followed by a brief for Interspecies Communication and the Rights of Non-Humans. The booklog discusses what was new with Leary and
Wilson as well as Psychedelia, Futurism & Space, Anomalism, Anti-Authoritarian Propaganda, and Visions, Anomalies, Weirdness & the Edge of Science. A list of groups concerned with Space Migration, Futurism, and Immortalism conclude the back of book. This catalog was sent to Leary himself.
