Robert Doisneau (1912–94) was a French photographer, most famous for his candid street shots in Paris. He was a champion of humanist photography and, with Henri Cartier-Bresson, a pioneer of photojournalism. He was appointed a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour in 1984.
