The Granary, the gallery in which “The Distaff Side” is displayed, is but an extension of our home, allowing us to keep our collection close by and to visit it and enjoy it in moments of “mutual” solitude. This exhibition is Melva’s homage to her sisters in art. It is a very personal message, a statement of celebrations and of respect for their artistic achievement, and it reflects a shared lifetime of collecting their wondrous work” (Melva Bucksbaum and Ray Learsy).
